Employers love geographers, but what is it that geographers actually do?
This free event aims to support students, teachers and parents to understand what careers are available for those that choose to study geography.
Our speakers will share their own individual education and career pathway, and the ways in which geography has equipped them with a wealth of skills and knowledge relevant to their jobs today. They will discuss how they use geography in their work, and how this geography has led to real-world impact.
A student activity can be downloaded and completed alongside the event.

Is this event for me?
This event is aimed at students from KS3, KS4 and KS5, with worksheets free to download and complete as students watch the session. We encourage teachers to facilitate this event, and/or collect information to pass onto students who are unable to attend. Parents are also welcome to attend.
Booking information
- Advance booking for this event is required. In order to book you will need an account on our website. If you already have an account you will be prompted to log in when you click 'book now'. Please if you do not have one yet (you do not need to be a member of the Society to create an account).
- This event will be held on Microsoft Teams and joining instructions will be included in your confirmation email.
- Teachers booking on behalf of students should make only one booking. You will be able to share the event access link across your students. Students can dial in from school or home.

EVC training visit leaders and managing critical incidents
This course is intended to give experienced EVCs a framework and resources for providing training for visit leaders in their own schools. The course is accredited by the Outdoor Education Advisers鈥� Panel (OEAP) and training will make use of current government literature relating to school visits.
